Golf Shop & More

New participants in this service must have five (5) scores posted before an official handicap can be provided. An official handicap is required in order to participate in Club tournaments. A player may post scores at the handicap computer terminal or via the internet by visiting www.indianagolf.org. Should a member require handicap verification / proof for an upcoming event, please see the Golf Staff for assistance.

The service will include the following:

• A personalized bag tag will be attached to your bag.
• Personal identification on your club shafts.
• The Golf Staff will bring your bag to you from the storage area.
• All clubs will be cleaned after every use.

The South Bend Country Club owns the merchandise that is offered and sold to its members and guests. If you cannot find what you need or want, please let the Professional Staff know and we will make every effort accommodate your request.

Carts are arranged through the Golf Shop and charged to your account. Please observe the cart usage signs when posted and use cart paths when available. Individuals without a driver’s license are not permitted to operate a golf cart. Push carts are permitted for use on the golf course. South Bend Country Club and its membership are proud supporters of a junior based caddy program and the Chick Evans’ Scholarship Program. Caddies are available on a first come first serve basis each weekend morning. Caddies are available during the week on a reservation basis.

The Club offers locker facilities for both the gentlemen and women. Our Locker Room Attendants provide a full complement of shoe cleaning and re-spiking services. Personalized guest lockers are available upon request from the Professional Staff or Locker Room Attendant.

A voluntary group, the Men’s Hole-in-One Club (HIOC) was founded in 1958. To belong to the club, any male member of the South Bend Country Club may join by registering with the Hole-In-One Committee through the Golf Shop. When a member makes a hole-in-one, the HIOC is assessed the amount necessary to defray expenses of a stag banquet where the lucky golfer receives a sport coat and other awards.

South Bend Country Club facilitates organized play for both 18 & 9 hole women’s golf groups. The 18 Hole women play on Thursday mornings from May through September. The 9 Hole women play on Tuesday at 5:30pm May through September. Both groups offer a variety of social and competitive golf opportunities. Please contact the Golf Shop for more details.

On occasion, our course will be filled or closed due to a tournament or maintenance activity. If you so desire, our Professional Staff will attempt to find another course in the area for you to play.
